Autumn Leave Mounds

A poem by Lauriel Gray from central vpa

Eyes hot and hands cold. It’s so nostalgic ’round here— it used to make me feel so happy.

Until melancholy came as I got old.

Around these old parts. Around these old hearts, old souls.

People who never knew who I really was. Autumn leaves change, you’ll learn, even people do.

That’s what life does. Shifts as the world turns, and the seasons run.

I would love to tend the lawn just to cover it in leaves again.
