I got It, You got it, We Got it

Poem by KAmeron Harris From Metro a&C High School

Sometimes Life gets us down and keeps kicking us in our stomach

Makes pain unbearable and sufferable

But we gotta make it through

For the person that depends on us

For the people that still believe in us, wanting us to be better

A black male afraid to walk outside his own house

Looking around to see if this is where his story ends

But he knows that he has hope for another day

To at least put smiles on someone’s else face

We all are messy and nothing ever seems simple in life

But the struggle proves that we are doing something worthwhile

Change has no distinct image, but little by little

We see it today, tomorrow, the next day, the day after that, and so on

Racism can’t go away as long as hate still fuels it

Loving one another because they’re different

Hoping that a child will growing knowing difference and believing

In the power of love and acceptance

Many colors can paint a beautiful picture that leaves a smile

Its something we all have inside of us

Love And Hope

Never Let It Die
